Ermine Primary F.C
This term has seen the Ermine football team begin their training for the continuation of their season in the Synergy league. We have competed in league fixtures vs Westgate, Carlton Academy and St Faith’s and St Martins.
Our EPA FC round up starts with the fixture vs Westgate. Westgate came into the fixture on the back of an undefeated run so far this season, so Ermine knew we had to be at our very best to achieve a result. Ermine started off on the strong foot, going 2-0 up at half time. A rousing, valiant effort with a determination not seen since Leicester City’s triumphant title winning season of 2015/16, saw EPA F.C. record a magnificent 6-1 win.
Next in our Synergy league fixtures we welcomed SFSM school to the Ermine arena. We showed immense courage and resilience in an end to end game, which unfortunately finished 4-2 to SFSM after some super goals by their squad, again, both sets of teams showed marvellous sportsmanship and respect throughout.
Our latest Synergy league fixture was away at Carlton Academy. We travelled in high hopes of achieving a positive result. At half time it was 0-0 at half time, somewhat bewildering to spectators and to Mr Hobson alike, after watching Ermine relentlessly threaten the oppositions defence throughout the first half. Into the second half we went, and after some marvellous goals we recorded at 3-0 win.
We have one more Synergy league fixture remaining vs St Giles Academy on Tuesday 11th June. We hope that with a positive result, we can progress to the Synergy league finals!
Lincoln City FC Visit
Ermine Primary FC were given the amazing opportunity to go and see Lincoln City’s amazing new training complex last term! A group of lucky Year 6 students were taken to see how the professionals trained and worked hard each day. We were treated with a visit to the new Elite Performance Centre where the mighty imps train each day! We loved seeing how the professionals ply their trade and what it takes to become a footballer!
The Lincoln City coaches did ask Mr. Hobson if he could offer any advice to the Lincoln City team ahead of this next seasons League 1 campaign, but Mr.Hobson politely stated that his world class skills and expertise were strictly contracted to the mighty Ermine Primary Academy F.C
We hope it inspired some of our students to become the next Matt Rhead or Harry Anderson!
Lincoln City Tournament
On Friday 7th June. Mr Hobson and Miss Musk took 8 lucky Year 5 students to Sincil Bank to play in a 6 a side football tournament. The students did amazingly well, showing superb resilience and incredible pride in our school badge; representing the school impeccably by showing sportsmanship throughout. We recorded four wins and three losses from our seven games which is an incredible set of results for our team. We were so proud of their hard work!
Monday’s are the days for Netball with Mrs Fletcher and Miss Truswell. The team have partaken in many fixtures this term and are training hard weekly in order to develop into even better netballers.
We have played in fixtures vs SFSM, Westgate and Monks Abbey and are still looking for our first elusive win. We know with our determination and desire to succeed, that win is almost in touching distance!
In May, Mr Hobson and Mrs Thompson took a team of Year 4 students to Lincoln Golf Club in Torksey to take part in the Lincoln Tri-Golf tournament. We had an amazing time learning new skills and playing in a competitive environment against many other schools. After eight different rounds testing a wide range of our golfing abilities, Ermine Primary Academy were announced as the Tri-Golf champions! A truly wonderful feat which has also allowed us to qualify for the School Games tournament on 28th June – a wonderful event which the best of the best from the whole of Lincolnshire will be competing in a wide range of sports to see who is truly cream of the crop! Who knows, perhaps you will be seeing a few of our budding golfers competing against the likes of Tiger Woods in a decade of two!
On Tuesday 11th June Mr Hobson will be taking a team of Year 5 students to play in a Kwik Cricket tournament at Morton Trentside Primary School. Then three days later on Friday 14th June – a team of Year6 students will be heading to Nettleham golf club to take part in their year groups Kwik Cricket tournament. We hope to be as successful as last year when we reached the final!
Tuesday 11th EPA F.C. will be completing their final game of the Synergy Super League when we travel to St Giles to play in what is set to be a highly competitive fixture.
